As each garden is unique, I work with you to design a garden that meets your needs and reflects your personality and character. My role as your designer is to deliver this in a creative and imaginative way.

Principles

I take a very personal approach to every design, meeting with you throughout the design process. I believe that quality and attention to detail are essential for delivering a garden that stands the test of time.

The Design Journey

Each garden project is unique and you may not want or need every step below. At our first meeting we will agree an approach that is right for you.

Consultation & Brief

Here I spend time with you in your garden to then draw up the design brief and proposal.

Survey & Site Analysis

Conduct a detailed site analysis, including a site survey, further discussion and lots of photos.

Design

This starts with an initial concept design for you to review before I complete the final detailed design, which includes details of materials and structural planting.

Drawings

Once you approve the detailed design, I prepare a package of construction drawings and specifications for contractors to accurately cost and then build your garden.

Planting Plans

Detail the name, quantity and location of each individually selected plant in your garden. Planting softens hard landscaping, provides structure and gives the space its unique character.

Contracting

I send a package of drawings and specifications to landscape contractors and answer their questions, so that they can prepare a fair and accurate quotation for building your garden.

Garden Delivery

Monitoring

As your garden is being built, I can visit the site to ensure that your garden is being delivered to the desired quality and that the integrity of the design is maintained.
